Milk-Based Soaps

Victorian Path 5 oz, 3 oz, and 1 oz, tissue-wrapped bars shown.
In
cold-processed soaps, such as those we make here at Still-Point Soap, a
solution of sodium hydroxide (lye) is carefully mixed with a blend of
emollient oils to produce soap. Commonly, water is the
principle ingredient used to dissolve the lye so that it can be mixed
with oil in the very precise quantities needed to produce a mild bar of
soap. In our milk-based soaps, however, we take the extra steps needed
to incorporate milk and sweet cream into our soap recipe. Now this
costs a little more, and it certainly takes more time and effort, but
we think it is worth it! And apparently so do you! Our milk-based soaps
have been among our "best sellers" for years, attesting to the very
special characteristics that milk lends these lovely bars.
